The NFL Hall of Fame is filled with the greatest players that have had the chance to put on an NFL uniform and change the game somehow and someway. It’s an honor to be voted in because it demonstrates the impact that a player made on the game. In addition, there are plenty of former players that had great careers that still have yet to be voted in, including former Bills’ special teams ace Steve Tasker.
The semifinalists list has come out and the list is getting smaller. There are some big names on the list which includes Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne, Drew Brees, Vince Wilfork, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri, per Good Morning Football and the Pro Football Hall of Fame X page.
The players on this list are well worthy of having their legacy solidified in Canton, Ohio and there is even a former Bill who is on this list a semifinalist.
Former Bills RB Frank Gore gets closer to Hall of Fame
This list has running back Frank Gore, who spent the 2019 season with the Buffalo Bills. He wasn’t the full-time starter as Devin Singletary was getting off to a fast start in his rookie season, but Gore did manage to bring leadership to the team and he proved he still had a little bit left in the tank.
That season, Gore rushed for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Bills. He didn’t miss a single game either. Overall in his career, Gore rushed for 16,000 yards and 81 touchdowns and nine seasons of 1,000+ rushing yards. As a third-round pick back in 2005, Gore exceeded expectations and the only big thing that he didn’t do was win a Super Bowl.
Gore is known for his great career mainly with the San Francisco 49ers where he spent ten seasons, and became a five-time Pro Bowler. After a decade with the 49ers, Gore played for the Colts, Dolphins, Bills, and Jets.
It is great to see a former Bill on this list, even if it was just for a season. Since 2019, the Bills haven’t missed the playoffs and Gore was able to help this team grow in that season and since then, the Bills have become a powerhouse in the league, despite a shaky season this year.
