Brandon Beane has never been afraid to bring back players that have played for the Buffalo Bills at some point when he was in Buffalo. Continuity does help a team to some degree, and we have seen a good amount of reunions with the Bills since Beane took over as the general manager.
Players like Tre’Davious White, Shaq Thompson, Dane Jackson, A.J. Klein, and Trent Sherfield Sr. are all examples of players who played with Buffalo, left, then came back eventually in some capacity.
There could be another player to follow that trend as Lance Lysowski from The Buffalo News reported that on Tuesday, the Bills hosted offensive lineman Cody Ford for a tryout, per the NFL transactions wire.

Beane drafted Ford in the second round in 2019. He started 30 games and appeared in 41 with Buffalo.
Cody Ford could land another opportunity with Bills
The Bills drafted Ford in the 2nd-round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and they traded up for him. With Buffalo needing to build up the offensive line for Josh Allen (who was going into his second season), drafting Ford wasn’t a surprise.
However, Ford was moved around the line between guard and center and he was never able to provide consistency throughout his time with the Bills. Ford played with the Bills for three seasons and was traded to the Arizona Cardinals before he could finish out his rookie contract. He played just one season with the Cardinals before signing with the Bengals in 2023 and being with them until recently.
Ford was able to see some consistent playing time with the Bengals, but now with him out of Cincinnati, the Bills should strongly consider the possiblity of adding him (even if it's just for a practice squad spot).
Adding Cody Ford is low-risk move that Bills must strongly consider
With the regular season starting today, and the Bills having their first game set for this Sunday, it never hurts to see which additions could help them throughout the season. When Ford was in Buffalo, the Bills were in the middle of building the offensive line which put Ford in a tough spot since they moved him back-and-forth.
The good news is that the Bills already have their starting five and their backups solidified. A potential addition of Ford would give the Bills another veteran lineman who has played in Buffalo before. If the Bills managed to add someone like Jedrick Wills to the practice squad, then there should definitely be room for Ford.
