Buffalo Bills fans may want to prepare themselves for a potential trap game in Week 14. Josh Allen and the Bills are heading out west to take Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. For the Bills, they have played much better football than the Rams. Coming in at 10-2, the Bills’ chase for the top seed in the AFC is officially on with the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Rams are still in the hunt for the NFC West at 6-6.
The Bills have had the Rams’ number in recent memory, but this Rams team is in desperate mode to stay alive within the division and playoff race. Sean McVay is still a valuable head coach and having receivers like Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Demarcus Robinson can make life hard for Buffalo’s defense.
As far as LA’s defense, Josh Allen is looking to stay on his MVP path against a defense that is allowing 24 points per game this season. Buffalo’s offense has been on a big roll since Week 6 and there is no way to pinpoint on how to stop them from creating an impact. They either bounce back heavily in the second half, or they deliver a beatdown for all four quarters.
Buffalo Bills cannot let up against a struggling Rams team
Even if you don’t want to say that the Rams are struggling, they are still the weaker team who have a lot more to lose than the Bills. That makes them a dangerous opponent for Buffalo. At the same time, the being placed on the Rams schedule this week makes LA’s playoff chances go up in the air.
Despite the Bills having a horrendous back-to-back performance in Weeks 4 & 5, the offense is averaging 30 points per game this year. Since Week 7, the Bills have scored 30+ points every single week. The Rams are in for a tough day of trying to stop Josh Allen and company.
At the end of the day, the Bills have to take care of business and even though this game won’t matter when it comes to the standings, they need to stay on track to capture the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Even if the Chiefs drop one game, the Bills still need to make sure they keep winning in order to make the playoffs run through Orchard Park. That business now starts this week in LA and the Bills handle the Rams with no problem.
