While the Buffalo Bills are one of the few teams that will be turning their attention to the playoffs, lots of other teams are now putting all of their focus on the offseason. Some will be taking a look at just the roster, while others are going to be searching for new people to be in charge.
One team that has officially cleaned house is the Atlanta Falcons, who have reportedly fired HC Raheem Morris and GM Terry Fontenot after another 8-9 season.
With this move, the Falcons will have brand new people in charge for next season and beyond. So, not only do they have to figure out the roster, but now they will need to search for other coaches and executives across the league to bring in.
Well, the Falcons could easily take a play from the Giants’ playbook that they used back in 2022 when they were looking for a new regime out in MetLife.
Falcons could hire two current Bills to take over in 2026 and beyond
After the 2021 season, the Bills lost assistant general manager Joe Schoen and former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the New York Giants. Schoen and Daboll worked together in Buffalo and had lots of success which helped them land the roles. Now obviously, it hasn’t worked out as Daboll was fired in the middle of the season and who knows how much longer Schoen will be in his position.
When it comes to the Falcons, they could do the same thing that the Giants did, and hire two Bills that are candidates for both head coach and general manager.
Assistant Bills’ general manager Terrance Gray and offensive coordinator Joe Brady are in line to get promotions of their own, and there could be a world where both of them leave Buffalo after this season.
With the success that the Bills are still having despite some ups and downs, the Falcons could make the move to hire Gray and then maybe, just maybe, Brady would get his shot at becoming a head coach and inheriting a lot of offensive talent that includes Bijan Robinson and Drake London.
Obviously, both Gray and Brady should be focused on the Bills right now, but this set up by the Falcons with them starting over could be big time opportunities for Gray and/or Brady.
