The 2026 NFL Hall of Fame class consists of some of the best players to ever play the game, and it’s hard to disagree with who got in this year. It includes Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri, all of whom are well worthy of getting into the Hall.
Now that the Hall of Fame has come and gone, the focus now turns towards the preseason especially since training camp for the Buffalo Bills has wrapped up at St. John Fisher University. Yesterday was their first practice inside the new Highmark Stadium, and it's just one step closer to kickoff in the regular season.
While all of the attention is now on the season, it’s important to reflect on this year’s Hall of Fame class that has some elite talent. In addition, it’s never too early to start thinking about who will be heading to Canton, Ohio next year.
Next year’s class could have some elite talent that played in this decade at one point. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, first-eligible players for the Hall of Fame Class of 2027 includes players like Rob Gronkowski, Ben Roethlisberger, Adrian Peterson, Richard Sherman, Cam Newton, and many others.
No Bills players are listed as first-time eligible players, but there is one former running back who should have a strong chance at getting into the Hall after missing out on this past year.
Bills could see former RB solidify Hall of Fame career in Canton in 2027
Bryan DeArdo from CBS Sports recently put together a list of the biggest names who are eligible for the Hall of Fame next year, and DeArdo also put together a prediction which includes running back Frank Gore, who played with the Bills in 2019.
"Gore, the NFL's third all-time leading rusher, should be a lock this year after he did not receive enough votes during his first year of eligibility." said DeArdo.
Gore played the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, where he had eight seasons of 1,000+ yard seasons, with a career average of 4.3 yards per carry. After spending ten seasons with the 49ers, Gore went on to play for the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets.
In his one season with the Bills, Gore only had 599 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he was brought in as more of a mentor for Devin Singletary who was a rookie that season.
Just as DeArdo pointed out, Gore ranks third on the NFL’s all-time rushing list. If that isn’t worthy of being in the Hall of Fame, I don’t know what it is.
