The Bills’ 2025 season came to an abrupt end in the divisional round when they fell to the Denver Broncos, losing 33-30 off of an overtime walk-off field goal. Buffalo will now go back to the drawing board to see what went wrong and what changes need to be made.

The offense was not dynamic outside of Josh Allen and James Cook, and the defense was consistently a constant problem week after week after week. Quite frankly, it would have been a bit of a shock if the Bills made it to the Super Bowl, let alone win it all.

At the same time, without having to worry about Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow, there was an expectation that the Bills would finally have their year. Well, that’s no longer the case.

While the focus will be on what the Bills will do this upcoming offseason, it’s important to look at the players who are entering a contract year in Buffalo. We have seen players get released with a year left on their contract, and we have also seen players get extensions. Here are the players on the Bills going into a contract year in 2026.

Bills entering contract year in 2026 per Spotrac

TE Dawson Knox

WR Curtis Samuel

S Taylor Rapp

RB Ty Johnson

OL O'Cyrus Torrence

LB Dorian Williams

OL Nick Broeker

WR Tyrell Shavers

LB Joe Andreessen

Knox has himself a solid second-half of the season and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Bills got a deal done that extends him beyond the 2026 season. The same would go for O’Cyrus Torrence and potentially Ty Johnson.

There is a good chance that players like Taylor Rapp and Curtis Samuel may have played their last down as a member of the Bills. However, the offseason will tell us more.

There is one name that isn't on this list, but potentially could be by September that is tight end Dalton Kincaid. With him approaching his fourth year of his rookie contact as a first-rounder, the Bills will have to decide whether or not they pick up his fifth-year option. If they don't, he will be set to hit free agency in 2027.
