When you look at the differences between how the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots have played through their first two games, there are so many differences. However, the biggest difference that should be pointed out is the different play between Josh Allen and Drake Maye, both who could be battling each for the division for years to come.
Allen has played like the best player in the league, racking up 674 total yards and 9 total touchdowns. He also hasn't had a turnover through two games, including against the Houston Texans who were pinned to have the best defense coming into this season. He's led the Bills to putting up 77 points through the first two games and he looks completely unstoppable as the Bills have started out 2-0.
While the Patriots got their first win of the season over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Drake Maye had his second consecutive game of looking a little lost as his decision-making has not been the best.
Drake Maye has second straight underwhelming game (and Bills fans should be encouraged)
New England's defense shined with only allowing the Steelers to score a field goal. However, Maye didn't look so great on offense. He finished this game going 14/22 for 208 yards and an interception that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
Instead of Maye being the star for New England, it was RB TreVeyon Henderson who had the play of the day on offense with a 39-yard rushing touchdown early in the game.
This is now the second week where Maye has struggled as he looked bad in the 4th quarter in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks three times despite having multiple opportunities to go win it for the Patriots. The game was tied 10-10 in the 4th quarter and the Seahawks didn't have Sam Darnold from the first quarter on. It was just simply embarrassing that Maye had a great setup and he decided to turn the ball over three times in the same quarter.
Bills' defense could be in for great performance against Drake Maye in Week 4
Now granted, the Bills should not be focused on the Patriots because they have to turn their attention to the Los Angeles Chargers who will be coming to Orchard Park in Week 3. However, it's hard not to be thinking about that Bills/Pats game in Week 4 because of what happened last year.
The Patriots came into Buffalo's stadium on primetime and shocked the Bills by ending their undefeated streak. Then later on in the season when the Bills went to Foxborough, the Patriots were up 21-0 before having an ultimate collapse against the Bills in the second half.
With the way that Buffalo's defense has been performing through their first two games, they may get the chance to join in on the fun of making Maye's life hard on the field in Week 4. However, they can't overlook a Chargers offense that will be coming in to upset the Bills in front of Bills Mafia.
