The Buffalo Bills are back in action for another AFC East battle this Thursday night, but they are back at home and they are hosting the Miami Dolphins, who honestly look like the worst team in the NFL. The Bills have completely dominated the Dolphins since 2018, only losing twice since Josh Allen arrived in Buffalo.

While Buffalo is riding high on a 2-0 record and 30-10 win over the New York Jets, the Dolphins have lost two straight and are dealing with multiple injuries across the offensive line. Not to mention, their secondary is among the worst in the league up to this point.

Going into this Week 3 primetime game on a short week, we had the chance to catch up with Brian Miller, Site Expert for Phin Phanatic and Miller was able to provide great insights about the Dolphins going into this divisional showdown.

Bills vs. Dolphins insights for Week 3 primetime game

1.) Miami is off to a bit of a rough start to open up the season. What needs to happen for them overall in order to pull off an upset in Buffalo?

"This is hard to answer, honestly. Nothing is going right for the Dolphins already this season and that isn’t going to change in four days. The Bills will face a team that has an almost non-existent cornerback unit and a front line that is struggling to get consistent pressure.

Tua Tagovailoa is more inconsistent than he has been at any point in his NFL career, and the play calling of Mike McDaniel often makes no sense. I won’t say there is no way Miami can win this game, but it feels more like how can the Bills mess up enough to open the window to possibility."

2.) Who on the Dolphins would you consider an x-factor going into this game, whether it’s on offense or defense?

"De’Von Achane is probably the best offensive player right now, but the blocking on the offensive line is a big problem. Miami will start two right side lineman who are backups after the starters landed on IR between week one and two.

They both played bad against the Patriots and I expect them to play at least as bad against the Bills. Defensively, there is no one that is scaring offenses. Miami  lacks experience and playmakers right now on both sides of the ball."

3.) Do you believe the Dolphins need to come out and establish the run or get the ball moving through the air early and often?

"Tua Tagovailoa isn’t playing good this year and as a result, he is making a lot of critical mistakes. For a guy that has been accurate throughout his career, he is making mistakes with the ball and it is leading to critical turnovers.

Conversely, the running game is struggling because of the blocking up front. Should they pass or throw? It’s not exactly a situation where one avenue is better than the other. What they need to do is take their time, execute the plays, and keep with their game plan because so far, they deviate from it every other series."
