For as great as the Buffalo Bills have been in recent memory, fans surely remember the tough times that they went through. Whether you want to bring up four consecutive Super Bowl losses, or even the infamous playoff drought that was eventually broken in 2017-2018, the Bills have had their fair share of embarrassing moments.
Even though the Bills certainly have had some of the worst moments in NFL history, they haven’t had it nearly as bad as one of their division rivals in the New York Jets. When it comes to the Jets, they just can’t seem to get much right at all.
Whether it’s due to bad quarterback play, a revolving door of head coaches, or having lots of talent but it being used poorly, the Jets have been a huge joke in the NFL for a very long time.
Just last season with Aaron Glenn, the Jets found new ways each week to look and play worse. A lot of people truly thought that Glenn would be shown the door after just one season. Instead, the Jets retained Glenn and Darren Mougey, and they are now in Year 2 of work together.
In free agency, the Jets made some sneaky good signings but nothing that was a big splash. Their most "notable" acquisition was trading for Geno Smith who led the league in interceptions last season with the Raiders.
When it came to the draft, there’s no denying that they had themselves a great draft. Even though picking David Bailey over Arvell Reese at No. 2 could be a big mistake, Bailey still gives the Jets help off the edge. New York also drafted offensive weapons in tight end Kenyon Saqid and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.
The Jets are surely trying to rebuild (once again) and they did add some nice pieces. However, they are nowhere near a contender. Geno Smith clearly isn't the future with the Jets and they will most likely be going for a quarterback next offseason. Still, they have a ton miles to go before being considered a serious contender.
Latest Jets comment has Bills fans laughing extremely hard
Former NFL quarterback and current NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky talked on NFL on ESPN and he spoke about how the Jets may have set themselves up as a quarterback destination, specifically saying “That’s a very enticing place to go for a young quarterback.”
Orlovsky talked about how this time next year, the Jets could very well have a ton of cap space and three first round picks in 2027. That surely does sound enticing, but only if they hit on free agent signings and draft well in the first round.

We have seen this show with the Jets before. Having a lot of cap space and valuable draft picks to build up a team. They have tried a ton of different routes whether it was at quarterback, head coach, or general manager. Nothing has worked for them, so for Orlovsky to say this is laughable because until the Jets can actually win serious games rather than just win the offseason, they won’t be taken seriously.
The Jets are going to have a rough 2026 season, it’s simple as that. They may not be the worst team in the league. Heck, they might even finish ahead of the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. At the end of the day though, the Jets are once again in a rebuild and no matter how many resources you have, it doesn’t matter if they don’t work out for the better.
