Cooper Kupp to the Bills is a match made in heaven (for the right price)

If the Bills don't give up a lot of draft capital, it would be very smart to bring Cooper Kupp to Buffalo.

The start of this week in the NFL had some groundbreaking news coming from two different cities on two different coasts. First, Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end Myles Garrett requested a trade out of Cleveland. The 29-year old pass rusher who is on his way to the Hall of Fame right now is looking to avoid going through another rebuild with the Browns.

Then on Monday night, Los Angeles Rams’ wideout Cooper Kupp, who had arguably the best season by a wide receiver in 2021-2022, informed the world that the Rams are looking to “trade him immediately”. Kupp posted that he was told by the Rams that they are looking to trade him sooner than later.

Kupp has been a serious threat with the Rams throughout his career, being targeted 100+ times in four seasons and averaging nine touchdowns per year. The only major issue with Kupp is that ever since his historic season in 2021, he’s missed atleast five games per season.

He’s become a little bit injury prone, but nonetheless, he is still a solid serviceable receiver that the Bills could inquire about. As of right now, Buffalo is set to lose Amari Cooper and Mack Hollins in free agency. If Beane is looking to go into a different route at the wide receiver position, he should atleast call the Rams and have a conversation about Kupp.

Being on the backend of his career, Kupp wouldn’t be the same dynamic receiver he once was but the Bills wouldn’t need him to be. He is still a great route runner who can get open in the first five steps to help move the chains. The Bills have proved that they don’t need a true number-one receiver, but having Kupp on their team would make a defense respect him and force some double coverage onto him, leaving someone else in one-on-one coverage.

For the right price, Cooper Kupp to Buffalo makes perfect sense

The future of the Bills at wide receiver is Keon Coleman and possible Khalil Shakir, whether fans like that or not. However, adding a great veteran who has won a Super Bowl wouldn’t hurt the Bills at all. As long as the Bills don’t give up anything more than a 5th round pick, it would be a great move for them to bring Kupp to Western New York.

With Kupp announcing that the Rams are looking to trade him, LA loses leverage in negotiating a deal where they could get more. It seems like they are looking to move off of Kupp sooner than we think.
