In a bit of a surprising move, the Washington Commanders and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury have mutually agreed to part ways per Tom Pelissero

It was just one season ago that Kingsbury helped Jayden Daniels not only win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but the Commanders’ offense was dynamite to the point where they made it to the NFC championship game.

However, with the Commanders doing a complete 180-turn for the worst and part of it was due to injuries. It is a bit of a shock that he is out in Washington, but here we are.

When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, their current offensive coordinator Joe Brady has a chance at becoming a head coach somewhere in the league. While there is an argument to be made that he coached himself out of a head coaching gig, you could still argue that he has a good chance at becoming a first-time head coach.

Depending on when Buffalo’s season ends (hopefully it’s with them raising the Lombardi Trophy), the Bills might have to face the reality that they may need to replace Brady if he leaves. If that does indeed happen, Buffalo may have the chance to acquire someone like Kliff Kingsbury, if he does not get a head coaching job again.

Kliff Kingsbury could be the OC replacement in Buffalo for Joe Brady

Since Kingsbury and Washington agreed to reportedly part ways mutually, it wouldn’t be surprising if he did a lateral move for another year or two before potentially getting a second chance at becoming a head coach once again.

As the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019-2022, Kingsbury finished with a 28-37-1 record and only coached in one playoff game. As an offensive coordinator the last two seasons with Washington, he proved that he can still be a quality coach.

Obviously, we know that this past season did not go so great. Last season though, was a top ten offense. Sure, it helped that Jayden Daniels was phenomenal but Kingsbury is the one that designed the offense to make it happen.

If the Bills do end up losing Brady to a head coaching job, bringing in someone like Kingsbury would be a great hire for the Bills and Josh Allen.
