CBS Sports hits the mark on Bills' biggest AFC rival's 2025 schedule

We don't want to see them this much in 2025.

If it wasn’t for Patrick Mahomes being in the same era as Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills would more than likely have a Super Bowl underneath their belt. Instead, Mahomes and the Chiefs have broken the hearts of Bills fans in the playoffs almost every year since 2021. Now granted, these games between Allen and Mahomes usually come down to the wire but the Chiefs end up making one more better play. That’s all it takes.

Since the Chiefs are so successful and have a bit of a mini-dynasty going on, obviously they are expected to be in the bigger games under the lights. They draw in ratings and everyone is going to watch, even if they say they won’t.

However, sometimes it becomes too much seeing them on primetime games, especially if you’re a fan of someone like the Bills or Ravens who have been knocked out by the Chiefs in the playoffs in recent memory. For the 2025 season, the Chiefs were given seven primetime games, the most in the NFL. Having a team who just got blown out in the Super Bowl and had an underwhelming offseason be in these primetime games is just too much.

The Chiefs don't deserve the most primetime games in 2025

Jeff Kerr from CBS Sports also agrees as well as Kerr said that it was a reality that Kansas City is playing in too many primetime games in 2025.

"The Chiefs are a ratings juggernaut and are fun to watch every week. That being said, the NFL gave the team that has won three Super Bowls over the last six seasons too much exposure. This year, the NFL decided to give the Chiefs seven prime-time games -- the most in the league. The Chiefs are playing in five prime-time games over the first eight weeks, tied for the most of any team in NFL history."

The Chiefs open up on primetime internationally against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil. Then the rest of their primetime opponents are the Giants (Week 3 on SNF), Jaguars (Week 5 on MNF), Lions (Week 6 on SNF), Commanders (Week 8 on MNF), Cowboys (Week 13 on Thanksgiving), Texans (Week 14 on SNF), and Broncos (Week 17 on Christmas night).

So, not only are the Chiefs’ primetime games not against teams like Bills, but they get the national spotlight against teams like the Giants and Jaguars? Both teams just pick in the top three of the NFL Draft and are coming off horrendous 2024 seasons.

It’s just absolutely ridiculous that the Chiefs are getting this many primetime games and two of them being bottom-of-the-league teams. I get it, the Chiefs are successful and they do drive the ratings up. However, putting them in seven primetime games is just too much.
