We are at the point with the Buffalo Bills where people are predicting their downfall. Riding a seven game winning streak, the Bills are playing their best football and they are a team that no one wants to play right now. Unfortunately for the Los Angeles Rams, that nightmare is coming true today at SoFi stadium.
While Buffalo is looking to get win No. 11 on the season, the Rams are looking to stay alive in the NFC West, hoping to get to 7-6. Now that the Bills have clinched the AFC East, they can just focus on keeping their sights on the top seed in the AFC.
On paper, the Bills should take care of the Rams without issue. However, anything can happen on the field as we have seen throughout this season. Buffalo is feeling great about themselves and they will be looking to keep that feeling alive from Inglewood, CA. While most fans may think the Bills will roll over the Rams, CBS Sports writer Garrett Podell doesn’t think so.
Podell posted a list of bold predictions for Week 14 and the Bills are on the wrong end of one of those predictions. Podell has the Rams pulling off an upset against the Bills, specifically that Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ pass-rush will be the main contributors.
Podell talked about how Stafford has been very impressive, specifically that in his last three games, Stafford has thrown eight touchdowns to no interceptions.
"Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford found his groove. He threw nine touchdowns to seven interceptions in the Rams first nine games of the year, but the last three weeks, two of which have resulted in Los Angeles victories, Stafford has thrown for eight touchdowns and no picks."Garrett Podell, CBS Sports
On the other hand, Podell also mentioned that the Rams’ young pass-rush could be a huge factor in stopping Josh Allen. Despite not having Aaron Donald, the Rams have put together a young pass rush that could be a major threat in the next couple of seasons.
The Rams have Jared Verse, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and Braden Fiske, all of whom have atleast 4.5 sacks each. Their pass rush looks solid, but the Bills’ offensive line is solid as well.
LA Rams have more pressure to win than the Buffalo Bills
The Rams have their backs up against the wall and they cannot afford to mess up and lose. Teams who tend to face pressure don’t perform well and that could very well apply to the Rams. While the Bills have to make sure they don’t lose momentum to getting the to seed in the AFC, they won’t lose much at all should the Rams somehow pull off the upset.
