The Buffalo Bills are ending their three-game home stand with a divisional matchup, facing the New England Patriots. Buffalo has an opportunity to move three games clear of the division with a win and a Jets loss- It's only Week 4. But first, they have to play the game.
There are notable injuries on the Patriots, like CB Christian Gonzalez and DT Christian Barmore, both declared out on Friday. The stars seem to have aligned well for a smackdown, but the Bills have their own worries.
They have four players remaining with injury designations heading into Sunday's action. WR Keon Coleman is questionable, alongside RB/KR Ray Davis. DL T.J. Sanders is doubtful to play, recovering from an appendectomy last week. Lastly, the most consequential injury on the report; CB Christian Benford,
Benford is the name to watch as we count down to gamtime. The clear best defender in the Bills' back 7, Benford's availability is game-changing.
Practice Squad Callups
With the injuries to several defensive backs, including the move of DB Jordan Hancock to the injured reserve, two DBs were elevated from the practice squad.
- DB Te'Cory Couch
- CB Kani Walker
Kani Walker had an excellent preseason, and could have made the final 53-man roster. The undrafted free agent at least secured his practice squad spot, and now may have an opportunity to get on the field.
Te'Cory Couch is a more surprising callup, but the Bills may still need a body on special teams or in the secondary.
Final Inactives for Gameday
As the new era of the Buffalo Bills gets used to their regular and irregular inactives, things settle throughout the season. With turmoil on the injury report, this week is no different. Per theĀ Bills' PR team, these are the inactives for Sunday's AFC East showdown:
- WR Skyler Bell
- DB Jalon Kilgore
- CB Christian Benford
- OLB Mike Danna
- OL Ar'Maj Reed-Adams
- OT Jude Bowry
- DL T.J. Sanders
Inactives Breakdown
Sadly, the Bills will be missing top CB Christian Benford, and preseason hero Kani Walker takes his spot in the active roster for the day.
T.J. Sanders must wait another week before his season's debut.
