Even though the Buffalo Bills brought in Bradley Chubb through free agency on a three-year deal, the team still needs more help coming off the edge if they want to give Jim Leonhard a fair shot at creating a ferocious pass rush.

Pass rush has been a big issue in Buffalo for many years now. Since the early 2020s, the Bills have had pass rushers like Greg Rousseau, Von Miller, and Joey Bosa. Now that the Bills have signed Chubb, they will be hoping that he can be a little bit more impactful than Miller and Bosa were.

When it comes to Rousseau, he is a great run-defender but has not become the pass rusher that fans had been hoping for. Buffalo has to still add to their defensive line and bring in someone who can help boost the pass rush for both the short and long-term.

NFL mock draft has Bills bringing in immediate pass rush help

NFL media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his latest mock draft and at No. 26 overall, Jeremiah has the Bills bringing in immediate pass rush help with Cashius Howell from Texas A&M.

"The level of concern about Howell's lack of length (30 1/4-inch arms) will vary from team to team, but his first-step quickness is unquestioned after he posted the fastest 10-yard split (1.58 seconds) of any player from the defensive line group at this year's NFL Scouting Combine." said Jeremiah.

The Bills are no stranger to drafting edge rush help in the first two rounds of the draft. They have drafted players like A.J. Epenesa, Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham, and Landon Jackon in the first three rounds. If they were to draft another edge rusher early on, the list would get even longer and it might irritate some fans. However, the Bills need help coming off the edge,

Howell started his college career at Bowling Green and spent three seasons there (only having two productive seasons). He would then transfer to Texas A&M in 2024 where he recorded 4 sacks before jumping up to 11.5 sacks in 2025.

He has a great motor on him and he fires off the ball fast which could help thrive in Leonhard’s system. If Buffalo decided to stay put in the first round and not trade back or out, Howell would be a solid pickup and Brandon Beane would continue to add to this defense that desperately needs as much as help as possible on the defensive line.
