The Buffalo Bills have already begun their quest to get back to the top of the AFC East mountain, and will have some work to do. There are a variety of salary cap challenges, which means that the Bills will place extra importance on the NFL Draft.
While everyone is attempting to emulate the Super Bowl champions and the blueprint they have laid out, the Bills will no doubt be looking to the draft to address some major needs. One of them can be addressed in the first round with the selection of the dynamic KC Concepcion out of Texas A&M.

Positives
- Tremendous burst, gaining natural separation within the first 15 yards from scrimmage.
- Explodes out of cuts at full speed, making him a tough matchup for corners in tight spaces.
- Surprisingly adept at contested balls, winning 10 of 15 contested catch opportunities in 2025, showing good body control and strong hands.
- More than half of his production came after the catch, showing great wiggle and vision to make defenders miss.
- Manages to find the soft spots in zone coverage, providing “easy” targets for his quarterback.
- Has an underrated physical side to him, showing willingness as a blocker and the ability to battle tougher press corners.
Concepcion is the kind of explosive athlete who can make things happen from all over the field. His ability to separate is something that Bills receivers were missing completely in 2025. His size isn’t ideal, but he has a level of tenacity that mitigates that to some degree. When utilized in screens, jet sweeps, and motion, Concepcion has the ability to be a big-play machine.
Negatives
- Smaller build, making him a smaller target overall, and leaves him at risk of getting eaten up by bigger, more physical corners.
- Concerning drop rate, with 19 drops in his college career, most of which came in traffic over the middle.
- Struggles with unexpected balls that are off trajectory, which leads to concentration lapses and drops.
- Run blocking tenacity is usually there, but technique needs a lot of work, particularly when working out of the slot.
- Needs to work on variance in setup and tempo when running routes, tends to rely on his athleticism rather than setting defenders up.
Of all the negatives listed, virtually all of them are workable. His size is what it is, but his natural speed and separation can help mitigate that factor. He needs to work on becoming more reliable catching the ball, and in blocking to become a complete receiver.
K.C. Concepcion NFL Player Comparison: Rasheed Shaheed
The thing that jumps off the charts about Concepcion is his yards-after-catch (YAC) ability. He is excellent at creating separation, getting out of arm tackles, and can play all over the field. He may never become a true WR1, but he can become an excellent offensive weapon, especially with a quarterback like Josh Allen at the helm.
Concepcion’s Fit with the Buffalo Bills
Bills head coach Joe Brady has already stated that screens will be a definitive part of the offense. For that reason, a potential home run threat from anywhere on the field makes the most sense. Concepcion is the kind of YAC machine that can get the ball in space and carve a defense for huge chunks.
Concepcion is also a great natural separator, even if he lacks the size to consistently win jump balls downfield. He will need to get stronger to beat press coverage, but he could give Allen a ton of easy throws that add up quickly.

Concepcion should be one of several potential available targets when the Bills pick 26th overall in the first round. Some mock drafts have him going slightly higher, while others have him as more of a second-round prospect. If the Bills tab him as their solution to the wide receiver puzzle, he should become a vital part of Brady’s attack right out of the gate.
