Yesterday, the Buffalo Bills introduced their next head coach in Joe Brady, who was the team’s offensive coordinator from the middle of 2023 until he was hired. Brady was brought in as the quarterbacks coach in 2022, and then took over for Ken Dorsey in 2023. Since he took over the playcalling, Buffalo’s offense has been one of the best and it’s not even close.
The 2023 season was tight end Dalton Kincaid’s first season in the NFL and he showed a lot of potential. However, injuries have slowed him down, especially his knee that goes back to the middle of the 2024 season.
Despite missing some games this season, Kincaid still put up 571 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was a huge security blanket for the offensive in critical moments. He averaged over 14 yards per catch, making him a great middle-of-the-field target for Josh Allen.
Yesterday, Beane commented on Kincaid’s future and whether or not his fifth-year option would be picked up this spring, and Beane may have just given Bills fans a huge answer about Kincaid’s future.
Per Lance Lysowski, Beane said “I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t pick that up.”
A decision on Dalton Kincaid's 5th-year option doesn't need to be made until the spring, but Bills GM Brandon Beane said:

"I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t pick that up."
The Bills' mission is to help Kincaid stay healthy.
Dalton Kincaid may have a long-term future with Bills
Kincaid may not be the all-star tight end, but he is a solid option for this offense especially with Joe Brady calling the plays. The way he is utilized gives the Bills different perspectives on how to move the ball down the field.
Whether he just goes across the field right off the line or goes down the field, Kincaid is a weapon that defenses can’t ignore. He doesn’t drop many passes and has shown to be a great third-down weapon to move the chains.
Again, the Bills have time to pick up his 5th-year option, but I don’t see how you don’t. He’s been with Allen and Brady since his rookie season and while he does need to stay healthy, he has also shown the ability to be the top tight end of the team. While Dawson Knox put up some great production near the end of the season, Kincaid is the better future option to pair with Jackson Hawes.
This will be a big decision for the Bills to make, but Beane saying this already in January may have already given fans the answer on Kincaid’s future with the Bills.
