The Buffalo Bills aren't messing around in the 2026 offseason. After another year of coming up short in devastating fashion, they're making the necessary moves to get over the hump next season.

One of their biggest splashes so far has been a massive contract for free-agent edge rusher Bradley Chubb. The former Miami Dolphins defender signed with the Bills on a three-year deal worth $43.5 million, taking Buffalo's defensive front to a new level. Under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard, he sees himself dominating.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Chubb said, "I talked to coach Jim [Leonhard] as well... just the ability to go, and go straight ahead, and be able to play with that fire, with that heart. The past defenses I've been in allowed me to do that, and talking to Jim I feel like it's going to be the same here... You got another guy like Greg [Rousseau] on the other side, who is long-armed and with the same motor, so I'm excited to pair those two together."

Chubb has found consistent success throughout his career as an edge rusher in 3-4 defenses. From his time with the Denver Broncos to his stint in Miami, the defender has been able to get after opposing quarterbacks from that alignment. While injuries have held him back at times, he has been dominant when on the field.

Opposite Rousseau, he could take his game to a new level in Buffalo. Leonhard comes from a Broncos system that produced an elite defensive front, putting its edge rushers in positions to make plays in the backfield. As the Bills transition into this new scheme, Chubb and Rousseau will be at the forefront of their plans. If both edge defenders can stay healthy and learn Leonhard's scheme quickly, they could become one of the top edge duos in football.

Chubb followed up the breakdown of his fit in Leonhard's scheme by highlighting how badly his new coaching staff wants to win a championship. He said, "They're trying to win, and win now."

Bills fans won't be satisfied with just another competitive season. This team needs to find a way to get past its AFC foes to land in the Super Bowl. All signs point to Chubb playing a major role in the team's quest to finally get there.
