When it comes to the NFL Draft, most of the attention goes into the first three rounds because ideally, that is where the top talent goes off the board. However, the third and final day of the event is where a lot of hidden gems can be found. The Buffalo Bills have had some great players drafted in Rounds 4-7.

Under Brandon Beane, the Bills have drafted players like Tyler Bass, Damar Hamlin, Christian Benford, Ray Davis, Javon Solomon, and Jackson Hawes. All of these Day 3 players have provided some kind of impact for Buffalo in one way or another. The Bills usually draft atleast one late round gem and Alex Ballentine from Bleacher Report listed the perfect player gem for the Bills going into next month.

Perfect late-round gem listed for Bills going into 2026 NFL Draft

Ballentine listed Notre Dame offensive lineman Billy Schrauth as a potential gem for the Bills to draft next month, and fans would be excited to get Schrauth on Day 3. Ballentine did talk about some injury concerns with Schrauth (tore his MCL in his final season), but his toughness and versatility is very hard to overlook as a potential Day 3 draft pick.

"It's worth noting that Schrauth played 66 snaps after tearing his MCL against USC. That's the kind of grit that will draw attention from teams. The 6'4", 310-pound blocker played both left and right guard at Notre Dame, showing the kind of versatility that teams look for on the interior." said Ballentine.

Schrauth is a tough player who fires off the ball. His versatility of playing both left and right guard should definitely give him looks on the final day of the draft and with the Bills needing depth on the offensive line, he would be a great addition and could realistically make the final 53-man roster.

While the Bills should have their starting five (assuming that Alec Anderson does indeed become the next starting left guard), they should be looking to add as much depth in the trenches for camp to see which players are best to put on the final roster.

Beane has identified some great Day 3 players before, and there is no reason why fans shouldn’t believe that he wouldn’t do the same thing. However, he also has to make sure that Buffalo’s first couple of rounds bring in solid contributors and can provide an almost-immediate impact.
