After Week 1's season-opening injury report seemed as clean as imaginable, there was bound to be some changes after a week of action. A short turnaround into Thursday Night Football makes that harder. The Buffalo Bills are still fortunate, with only 6/7 names on their injury report, and many of those names fully participating.

With an estimated injury report following Monday's day off, the Bills got stuck in on Tuesday and Wednesday. After today's practice, the final injury report, per the Bills' PR X account, has arrived. We'll break it down together here.

A brief mid-game absence from Terrel Bernard was noted, as he went down and got checked out in the 3rd quarter of Week 1's victory over the Houston Texans. He returned, racking up 12 tackles and recovering the game-winning fumble.

Though Bernard is set to play on Thursday, he was limited in practice throughout the week as he recovered.

Game Status: QUESTIONABLE

Cole Bishop had a projected full participation for Monday's practice, but that doesn't survive contact with the field. The stud safety wore a leg sleeve on Tuesday following his mid-game injury against the Texans. He started the second half following his visit to the blue medical tent before halftime.

One of the consistent bright spots on defense, Bishop's absence against a team like the Lions could have a major impact on the game. For now his status is truly a mystery.

OLB Bradley Chubb - Thumb

One of the names fans fear seeing on the injury report, marquee free agent signing Bradley Chubb is going to be just fine. He had his thumb bent back during Week 1, but it won't affect his availability nor his impact. This one need not be stressed over.

DB Jordan Hancock - QUAD

Game Status: AVAILABLE

Of Week 1's three questionable designations, Jordan Hancock was the only one to take the field. He ramped up daily heading into Sunday and was a key depth and special teams contributor. There's no reason to hold him back against the Detroit Lions.

RB Ty Johnson - Hamstring

Game Status: QUESTIONABLE

When the Buffalo Bills rested Ty Johnson in Week 1, it was largely precautionary; The team felt as though practice squad call-up Frank Gore Jr. offered enough to let them rest their favourite third-down back. It was an accurate though, but Gore only took 5 offensive snaps, with 1 touch of the ball.

This week, Ty Johnson progresses, but his status for gameday is still unknown. Gore was an amplere placement, and a potential absence need not be stressed.

DL T.J. Sanders - Knee/Illness

Game Status: QUESTIONABLE

T.J. Sanders had been questionable entering Week 1 after suffering knee injury in practice. He seemed on track for Week 2 after missing the season-opener, but an illness on Tuesday has thrown him off course.

Sanders had been seeing a great deal of starting reps in practice, though his role is currently unquantifiable without seeing real-time action. If he plays on Thursday Night Football, it'll be in his largest role as a pro.

Bills Injury Report Summary

The Buffalo Bills have three players with gameday designations for the second straight week. Two familiar, in the forms of RB Ty Johnson and DL T.J. Sanders. The Bills announce their practice squad call-ups on gameday, with Thursday Night Football on the docket.

If Ty Johnson is unable to play once again, Frank Gore Jr. will simply get the nod for the second consecutive week.

The Bills felt comfortable against the Houston Texans without replacing T.J. Sanders with a practice squad call-up, and no other injuries will affect their rotation. Expect the same against the Detroit Lions if he's still too injured to play.

The biggest issue on this report is Cole Bishop. The safety is critical to the Bills' defensive success, and his absence thrusts Damar Hamlin back into the limelight. Hamlin isn't a terrible third or fourth safety, but he isn't the starter the Bills need. His name comes up as often as he takes the field, and that's never a good thing.
