The Buffalo Bills are back at home for a 1PM kickoff against the 2-5 underwhelming Miami Dolphins. The Bills haven’t lost in Buffalo to the Dolphins since Week 16 of the 2016 season and there is no reason to believe that the Dolphins will pull up an upset today.
Coming in at 6-2, the Bills are looking to take an even bigger lead in the AFC East with a win today. However, they will be looking to do so without two of their best players on both sides of the ball.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper and cornerback Christian Benford have both been ruled out against Miami. While losing Cooper is not ideal, the Bills managed to put up 31 points last week without any major contributions from him. Fans can expect a heavy workload for Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman again. The news about Cooper was reported by Adam Schefter before the final inactives list came out.
Cooper was on his way to possibly be playing, but now he will take the week off and get healthy for a Week 10 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
On the other hand, losing Benford is crucial for this defense. Benford has been one of the best corners this season and has experience slowing down guys like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Now Buffalo will be rolling with third-year corner Kaiir Elam to go with Rasul Douglas.
Those were the two biggest names that were reported on the inactives list for Buffalo. Overall, the Bills have seven players who are not dressing today.
Bills final inactives list:
-WR Amari Cooper
-S Mike Edwards
-LB Nicholas Morrow
-FB Reggie Gilliam
-CB Christian Benford
-OL Will Clapp
-DL Zion Logue
As for the Miami Dolphins, they will be going without a good amount of starters on the defense, including some secondary pieces.
Dolphins final inactives list:
-CB Kadar Kohou
-S Jevon Holland
-RB Jeff Wilson Jr.
-CB Storm Duck
-OL Andrew Meyer
-TE Julian Hill
-DL Zach Sieler
The Dolphins not having players like Holland and Sieler gives the Bills’ offense a huge break. Holland is a very underrated safety that doesn’t get talked about much and Sieler is a great pass-rusher who has shown that he can get to Josh Allen.
