It was embarrassing enough to watch the Buffalo Bills lose another playoff game in a heartbreaking fashion against the Denver Broncos. Now, the Bills have put themselves in a position where they have become the biggest laughing stock in the entire NFL.
Two days after their playoff loss, the Bills fired Sean McDermott after 9 seasons which caused a ton of reactions. Current players were upset and not happy whatsoever about this news. On Wednesday, Terry Pegula and Brandon Beane held a press conference to discuss the decision to move on from McDermott and where they are looking to go now. It was a complete disaster.
It didn't seem like Pegula and Beane were on the same page with various talking points, but one of the biggest topics that put the Bills in an even worse spot was about WR Keon Coleman.
Beane was asked about Coleman, and Pegula interrupted and told the media that it was the coaching staff that pushed for Coleman, and that Beane was being a team player about the draft selection. It caused a ton of confusion as it doesn't match the evidence that has been brought up since that quite.
Now, you have to wonder that since it was allegedly the coaching staff that wanted Coleman, will the front office and the new coaching staff want Coleman to be in Buffalo? At this point, it seems like Coleman’s days are limited in Buffalo, but a Bills veteran spoke about what Coleman has the chance to do.
Brandin Cooks says what Keon Coleman may need to hear to overcome doubters
Brandin Cooks appeared on Good Morning Football and was asked about the Coleman situation pertaining to the comments made in the press conference. Kyle Brandt asked Cooks on whether or not Coleman should demand a trade after these comments were brought up.
“You absolutely have a point there. When you hear something like that, you’re like ‘Well, am I wanted?’” said Cooks. He then said that if Coleman is still wanted in Buffalo by the front office, then you “put a chip on your shoulder” and “prove yourself right, not prove people wrong.”

Before anything, both the front office and Coleman have to figure out if this relationship is going to stay for atleast another season. If the front office believes that Coleman can still grow as a solid playmaker, then they have to find a way to build up his confidence and help him grow. On the other side of it, who knows if Coleman would want to play for an organization that is now pointing the finger on who really wanted to draft him.
This press conference hosted by Pegula and Beane did not take any kind of pressure off of them. Now, they have to go and hire a head coach and figure out how to fix this roster. The Bills are going to be under a microscope throughout this process and offseason.
