The Buffalo Bills’ offense is set to take on the best defense in the league this Sunday when they face the Houston Texans. It will still be a Joe Brady-led offense, but the unit got some upgrades at the wide receiver position this offseason.
The acquisition of DJ Moore is a huge one for the Bills, as he comes in as the new No. 1 receiver and is set up to take a bunch of pressure off of the rest of the supporting cast. Having him on the outside should help with separation from defenders, and help move the ball down the field through the air.
While Moore is the obvious big addition to the offense, there is a rookie wide receiver who has been making a name for himself that has caught the attention of fans and the coaching staff.
Wide receiver Skyler Bell was drafted by the Bills in the 4th round of this year's NFL Draft out of UConn, giving the Bills a playmaker who can lineup outside or in, and can be used in a number of ways.

Bills' offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. talked about Bell and how he can "line up in multiple positions" and that "he's shown himself to be a guy who can help us win this year." said Carmichael, per Andy Young of Spectrum News 1.

Bell has a huge advantage in his rookie season because not only are the Bills looking to get more production out of their wide receivers, but he doesn’t need to be put in the same position that Keon Coleman was back in 2024, and be expected to be an immediate go-to guy for Josh Allen.
Even though Bell missed the Bills’ first two preseason games, he made up for it in the final one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He didn’t just have 7 catches for 49 yards (off of 10 targets), Bell also was used in a jet sweep situation and took it 28 yards to the house to get the Bills back into the game.
The Bills shouldn’t wait to use for an injury situation. Instead, they should be looking to get him some meaningful snaps where he can rotate in at receiver and make his impact. He is the kind of player that has the versatility that Brady can use to open up the playbook.
