Going into training camp for the Buffalo Bills, there was a lot of hope and promise that this would be the team that finally gets over the hump. The team that can finally take down the Kansas City Chiefs to capture a Super Bowl. Buffalo has the talent and the depth to do it and they are led by their MVP quarterback, Josh Allen.

Now, we know that nothing is ever going to go perfect. There are going to be mistakes. That’s just part of the game. And unfortunately, injuries are also part of the game and sometimes, we see some great players go down and miss extensive time if not the whole season.

The Bills are no exception to this, but early in training camp with the pads now on, there is a bit of a nightmare going on with all of the injuries that they are dealing with.

Bills dealing with nightmare with multiple injuries early on in training camp

According to Alex Brasky, there were 14 players that missed practice on Tuesday due to injuries and some of them are potential starters. The list includes Max Hairston (who went down with a leg injury), Terrel Bernard (hamstring), Dorian Williams (calf), Spencer Brown (back), and Tyler Bass (pelvic-area soreness). That’s not even half of the list either.

Hairston is the latest biggest injury update because not only was he a first-round pick and in the mix for the CB2 spot, but anything that has to do with the leg/knee is never a good sign. More to come on his injury.

Obviously training camp won’t be cancelled, but all of these injuries piling up makes you wonder if Sean McDermott and his staff have to take a different approach on how practice is carried out moving forward. I know that most of the injuries shouldn’t affect players by the time Week 1 rolls around, but they are missing reps and that comes back to haunt a team eventually.

The only good spin on this situation is that this gives other players to step up and make a name for themselves to earn a roster spot for when September comes around.
