We are two days away from Buffalo Bills football, and up next on the Bills’ schedule is the Los Angeles Chargers. When you look at both of these teams on paper, the Bills are the better team by a mile. They have played much better, and Joe Brady has been a better head coach as compared to Jim Harbaugh.

With that being said, the Bills enter a trap game situation because of the disappointment that the Chargers have been the last two weeks against the Cardinals and Raiders. Buffalo has pulled off two impressive wins and are coming into this game with extra rest. This could be a perfect setup, or an absolute nightmare for them.

Even though the Bills have had extra rest, their Thursday injury report was not kind to fans going into Sunday. Now granted, the Bills have one more practice today before the weekend. However, we can't ignore what was reported on Thursday.

Injuries could affect Bills going into Week 3 vs. Chargers

The Bills' PR X team posted the team's Thursday injury report and it featured four "DNP" (Did not practice) and two limited. The four players that had a DNP designation included Keon Coleman (ankle), Jordan Hancock (hamstring), DJ Moore (shoulder), and T.J. Sanders (illness). When it comes to Sanders, he reportedly had an appendectomy on Tuesday, per Andy Young of Spectrum News 1.

It makes sense as to why the Bills had signed DT Austin Johnson to the practice squad to potentially take Sanders' spot if he is set to miss time. Johnson spent the 2024 season with the Bills so there is some familiarity.

Coleman has yet to practice this week, but both Hancock and Moore were limited on Wednesday, but then did not practice on Thursday. That is a little concerning. While Moore's shoulder injury isn't considered to be long-term, him not practicing brings some concern.

Bills need as much help to overcome trap game vs. Chargers

With the success that the Bills have had through their first two games, the last thing fans want to see is them dropping a game at home that is coming off two bad losses against some of the worst teams in the league from last season. While Thursday's report wasn't exactly the greatest to see, it wasn't all bad.

Ed Oliver was a limited participant after missing Wednesday's practice. He suffered a hip injury just minutes before the inactives came out in Week 2. In addition, running back Ty Johnson has been a full participant these last two days. He hasn't played yet this season since suffering a hamstring injury back in August before the preseason.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard and Bradley Chubb have also been full participants which likely means that they will be just fine come Sunday.

Friday's injury report will give us a better idea on what to potentially expect for Sunday when the inactivs are being made. Since it's so early in the season, it may not be a bad idea for the Bills to play it safe rather than have someone out there that isn't close to being ready.
