The second week of the NFL season will wrap up tonight on the west coast as the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams will face off on Monday Night Football. As for the rest of the league, they will have their attention towards Week 3 which will start in Green Bay when the Packers host the Atlanta Falcons.
After starting off on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, the Buffalo Bills are back in the 1PM time slot as they will host the 0-2 Los Angeles Chargers. Surprisingly, the Chargers haven't just lost their first two games, but these losses have come against two of the worst teams in football from last season.
In Week 1, they hosted the Arizona Cardinals in which they allowed Jacoby Brissett and the offense to gain nearly 400 yards against their defense. The Cardinals ended up winning 26-14 in the biggest upset of the week. Then in yesterday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chargers were once again at home but Justin Herbert looked absolutely loss with 2 interceptions and 3 fumbles. Vegas ended up winning 26-14 to send the Chargers to 0-2.
Meanwhile for Buffalo, they look like the best offense in the entire league led by the best player in Josh Allen. They have scored 77 points through the first two weeks, with one of those wins being against a Houston Texans team that has one of the best edge rusher duos in Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
Bills and Chargers are two totally different teams heading into Week 3
No one should be surprised that the Bills are in the current position that they are in. While they have to clean up their defense, they are doing just enough in critical moments to support the offense.
When it comes to the Chargers, there is plenty to be shocked about. Both of their losses have come against teams that were in the Top 3 of this past NFL Draft and the games haven't felt close at all. Not to mention, they were both in LA. Now, the Chargers will fly across the country to face the best team in the NFL that is rolling.
Even though there is so much up against the Chargers going into Week 3 in Buffalo, this is the perfect opportunity for the Chargers to pull off the shock of the week in a trap game against the Bills.
Bills' Week 3 matchup has unexpectedly become a trap game
The offense for the Chargers isn't thriving under Mike McDaniel (who knows the Bills very well), and they are overall playing undisciplined football through two weeks.
Buffalo is coming off an emotional home opener where they officially debuted their new Highmark Stadium and they put up 41 points on the Lions. They are feeling great about themselves right now, which is a trap for them going into Sunday's game against the Chargers.
With LA staring at a possible 0-3 record, there is no better way to prove that they can still be a contender within the AFC than to go into Buffalo and take down the mighty Bills. That's where Buffalo has to be on their A-game and realize that nothing is guaranteed until the clock strikes zero. This Week 3 game just got a whole lot more interesting for both teams for seperate reasons.
