The final mock drafts are coming out now before the NFL Draft begins tomorrow at 8PM from Pittsburgh, and NFL fans can't wait for the excitement to start. The draft will really begin at the second pick with the New York Jets, as the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to take QB Fernando Mendoza. The Jets will more than likely take either Arvell Reese out of Ohio State, or David Bailey out of Texas Tech. After that, anything can happen.

The Buffalo Bills will have to wait until pick No. 26 to make their selection, and the direction that they decide to go could be very interesting. A lot of people are thinking that the Bills are better off trading back because they don't have a second round pick. It does make sense, but others are also saying to address a need.

You can make the argument for either side. However, it is up to Brandon Beane on what he wants to do.

One area that isn’t the biggest need for Buffalo but could use some improvement is defensive tackle, and in Peter Schrager’s mock draft on ESPN, that is the direction that Buffalo goes in (but not with the prospect you might be thinking about).

Bills address defensive line in latest ESPN mock draft

In Schrager’s mock draft, he has the Bills drafting Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods, which is a bit surprising considering what the Bills need in the middle of the defensive line.

"Buffalo was 30th against the run last season, averaging 5.1 yards allowed per carry, so it should be considering ways to improve that. Woods -- along with Parker, his Clemson teammate -- was getting a ton of buzz heading into the 2025 season, and although his production dipped, he has blue-chip upside. Concepcion would also be interesting here, but I think the Bills go defense." said Schrager.

The best pure run-stopper in this draft is Kayden McDonald out of Ohio State, who wasn’t even drafted in the first round in Schrager’s mock. That was a bit surprising, considering that McDonald is someone who has the ability to take on double teams in the trenches to leave someone free and make a play.

With Buffalo switching to a 3-4 defense and their inability to stop the run last season, selecting McDonald would make more sense rather than Woods. It’s not that Woods isn’t a good player, he just may not be the right fit for what Jim Leonhard is looking for. The NFL Draft kicks off tomorrow night and very soon, we will find out what Beane will do in the first round.
