Every team in the NFL strives to be among the best during the season. Some of the teams have realistic chances at making a run in the playoffs and towards the Super Bowl, while others are closer to the No. 1 overall pick in the following year’s NFL Draft. Luckily for the Buffalo Bills, they are closer to a championship than the bottom of the league.
While the Bills are considered Super Bowl contenders, they have yet to reach the Super Bowl in the Josh Allen era. You would think that with having him as their quarterback, the Bills would already have multiple appearances...sadly we know that's not the situation. In fact, they have only made it to the conference championship game twice since 2020.
Now with their offseason changes that they went through, some people are saying that Buffalo is not a true contender like they once were. Bills Mafia knows that isn’t the case at all. As long as Allen is in his prime, the Bills will always have an open championship window. At the same time, that window won’t remain open forever.
Bills (and 3 of their opponents in 2026) face massive Super Bowl pressure
Austen Bundy from FanSided.com recently wrote about how four teams, including the Bills, face the most pressure this season when it comes to making the Super Bowl. The other three teams are the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens.
"Quarterback Josh Allen's championship window isn't getting any bigger. He's eight years into his tenure with the Buffalo Bills and he may be slowly becoming a believer in the Bills' Super Bowl curse. This year's team isn't as strong as previous iterations, but that's not going to stop fans from expecting the future Hall of Famer to deliver a trophy, any trophy, back to Orchard Park." said Bundy.
"The addition of wide receiver DJ Moore is supposed to plug the hole left by Stefon Diggs multiple seasons ago. We all know Allen can elevate any receivers he plays with, but new head coach Joe Brady will be expected to build upon his offensive prowess and get the team over the hump. Buffalo whiffed on its best chance ever last year with no Patrick Mahomes and no Lamar Jackson to prevent it from reaching the Super Bowl." Bundy added.
Everyone knows the pressure that the Bills face, even with a brand new head coach in Joe Brady. The thing about it is that Brady has been in the building since 2022 and worked directly with Allen as his offensive coordinator. He knows what the expectations are, and it will be up to him to do what Sean McDermott couldn’t.
As for the other three teams, the Rams might be the ones that represent the NFC. They already had a stacked roster with the MVP in Matthew Stafford, and then they went out and added Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns.
With the Chiefs and Ravens, they both have franchise quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Even though both of them missed the playoffs last year, fans should expect to see them back in the postseason and making their runs at the Super Bowl.
