Bills fans are still feeling great after a Week 1 comeback win against the Baltimore Ravens on primetime football. While some fans left the game, or maybe even turned off the game at some point, it’s still great knowing that fans can brag about what Buffalo accomplished against a tough conference opponent.

While fans and the organization should enjoy this win, Week 1 also showed some major weaknesses that the Bills have to address sooner than later. Luckily, Buffalo’s schedule should be in their favor for the next month so now is the time to make some adjustments and see what works.

Bills make a roster move but ignore the biggest problem

According to Tom Pelissero, the Bills are reportedly signing a new punter in Cameron Johnston and are also waiving Brad Robbins, who seemed to have won the punter competition early on this summer and punted for Buffalo this past Sunday.

According to Alaina Getzenberg, Robbins had four punts against the Ravens with a net of 38 yards and just one inside Baltimore’s redzone. Makes you wonder if the Bills were not pleased with Robbins’ performance, but nonetheless, the Bills will have a new punter moving forward with Johnston.

While Buffalo does make a roster move to try and improve, what they really should have done was gone out and get some defensive help. The defense looked lost and pathetic against the Ravens.

Now granted, the duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry is nearly unstoppable, but it is possible. In addition, wideout Zay Flowers does deserve credit for his performance against Buffalo.

At the same time, the fact that Buffalo couldn’t adjust early on is very concerning. I know that they played better situational football late in the game, but it should have never come down to that along with some luck (Derrick Henry fumbling the ball).

Buffalo seriously needs to consider bringing in some defensive help because if they don’t and Buffalo continues to struggle defensively, we are going to have a very similar result that we have seen year after year after year.
