When the Buffalo Bills drafted T.J. Parker, they were adding help to rush the quarterback in a new defensive scheme under Jim Leonhard. Coming out of Clemson, his most productive season was in 2024 where he racked up 11 sacks to go with 57 total tackles. Had he entered the 2025 NFL Draft, there is no doubt that he would have been a guaranteed first round pick.

Last season at Clemson, Parker finished with just five sacks but the Bills still saw something great with him as they elected to spend their first pick on him in the second round back in April. Since Jim Leonhard’s defense needs a heavy rotation of edge rushers who can get after the quarterback. Parker has that ability.

Then again, his game is not perfect, so there will be some growing pains for him. The good news for Bills fans is that they are seeing that Parker’s commitment to getting better is real after what he told reporters on Thursday during mandatory minicamp.

T.J. Parker showing early commitment to getting better for Bills

According to Jonathan Acosta from WGRZ, Parker told reporters that he was talking with Bradley Chubb and when Parker said he was going to be at Clemson to train, Chubb had invited Parker to train with him down in Florida.

TJ Parker says he’s going to be spending some time down in Florida training with Bradley Chubb.” said Acosta.

Seeing Parker willing to go down to Florida to train with not just a teammate, but one of the better pass rushers in the game is great for his development. Since coming into the league, Chubb has been a solid pass rusher, but he has to go through challenges with injuries. However, no one can say that Chubb isn’t an impactful player.

Parker has the luxury of teaming up with Chubb who he can learn from early on in his career. If Chubb can give Parker some tips on how to become a solid pass rusher in this league, the Bills could very well have their franchise edge rusher that they haven’t had in a long time.

The Bills have lost plenty of games due to them not getting to the quarterback in crucial moments throughout the last few seasons. Fans are hoping that Parker can emerge to fix that issue, but he will need step up his game as he progresses throughout his career.
