When the Buffalo Bills entered the 2026 NFL Draft, there were a lot of people that were expecting them to trade back or even out of the first round. They only had seven picks to work with, and it did not include a second rounder pick since it was sent to the Chicago Bears for DJ Moore.
Brandon Beane ended up making three trade backs that eventually landed the Bills out of the first round and early into the second. They had the third pick in the second round of the draft and they spent the 35th pick on Clemson EDGE/OLB T.J. Parker.
Parker’s best season with the Tigers was in 2024 where he had 11 sacks to go with 57 total tackles. Had he entered the 2025 NFL Draft, Parker would have had a high chance to go in the first round without any question. However, the Bills managed to get him early in the second round back in April with the hope that he can help contribute immediately in Jim Leonhard’s defense.
We have seen overlooked rookies make immediate impacts. It happens every year, and maybe Parker can become one for the Bills in his first season. That would have Bills Mafia beyond thrilled if Parker becomes a star sooner rather than later.
T.J. Parker prediction has Bills fans hoping it comes true in 2026
Tyler Sullivan from CBS Sports predicted one “under-the-radar” breakout star for each AFC team going into this season, and Sullivan has the Bills’ first draft pick in Parker as Buffalo’s pick.
"Sure, veteran Bradley Chubb, who signed a three-year, $52 million contract this offseason, will be the main figure tasked with adding pressure off the edge, but Parker should factor in as well. After all, Parker did have an 11-sack season at Clemson in 2024, which included 19.5 tackles for a loss and six forced fumbles. The talent is there, and if Parker taps into it early in his tenure with Buffalo, it could prove massive for the Bills' hopes of reaching the Super Bowl." said Sullivan.
Parker has the chance to become a great player with Buffalo switching defensive schemes. The best part about it is that he doesn’t need to be a starter right away. With the Bills having Bradley Chubb and Greg Rousseau as the main outside linebackers, Parker can learn behind both veterans and grow into his game for the Bills.
It’s been awhile since Bills fans have seen an edge rusher come in and wreck havoc on a consistent basis. If Parker can show flashes of that right away, he will instantly become a fan-favorite who can help Buffalo’s defense take the team over the top and get Buffalo in a position for a true Super Bowl run.
