The Buffalo Bills jumped into the world of trades ahead of next week’s free agency period opening up by agreeing to trade for wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. Bringing in Moore not only gives the Bills wide receiver help, but it gives Moore the chance to thrive as Buffalo’s potential No. 1 receiver.

Buffalo needed to make some kind of splash at wide receiver. While some fans may think that the Bills could have landed someone else better, Moore has been a solid receiver for the last eight seasons and hasn’t missed a game in five seasons. Not to mention, some of his best production came in Carolina when he was with Joe Brady.

Now that the Bills are getting Moore to pair with Josh Allen, one receiver that most likely now won’t be coming to Buffalo is Eagles’ wideout A.J. Brown, who has been a wideout that fans are paying attention to as being a trade candidate.

While the Bills could very well be out on Brown now, that doesn’t mean Brown won’t end up in the AFC, or even the AFC East.

Bills may watch a rival eventually acquire WR A.J. Brown

According to Jeff McLane, the Bills had checked in with the Eagles about Brown but with the trade involving Moore, it would “theoretically take them out of the A.J. Brown market.”

McLane then mentioned that teams like the Patriots and Ravens “are the most likely potential partners” when it comes to a potential A.J. Brown. If that holds true, then the Bills will either see Brown when they go against Baltimore or see him twice a year as a member of the Patriots.

The Eagles are asking for a hefty price and it seems like Buffalo wasn’t willing to pay it, and that was smart of them. Don’t get me wrong, Brown provides a ton of value and would have been a great addition to Buffalo. Just not at the price that the Eagles want.

If the Eagles do end up trading Brown at the price that they want, it’s a massive risk for the team that’s trading for him. Adding Brown would make another team stronger for sure, but they would be giving up on future draft capital for maybe 2-3 good years from Brown. If another team like the Pats or Ravens want to take that risk, be my guest.

Either way, the Bills have started to rebuild their wide receiver room with the addition of Moore and they can continue to add to their roster.
