The NFL Draft is next week and very soon, the Buffalo Bills will deliver their next rookie draft class to Western New York. When it comes to Buffalo’s first rounder, fans are hoping that Brandon Beane will bring in a prospect that can bring in help at wide receiver, edge rusher, or even linebacker.
You could make the argument for either position, but when it comes to the wide receiver position, it has been a huge talking point for the Bills the last two seasons. Beane has faced a ton of criticism about the lack of true investment with top talent, so it will be interesting if he decides to wait to address the wide receiver early or later on in the draft.
Out of the wide receiver prospects that are in this draft, there are only 2-3 prospects that the Bills most likely won’t get just because they could be drafted high. Players like Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson have a great chance at being drafted high in the first round, so the Bills may have a great chance at getting another top prospect.
However, if they decide to wait until after the first round, there is a prospect that they are reportedly showing “significant interest” in per Ryan Talbot. According to Talbot, Skyler Bell seems to be on the Bills' radar and he would bring a dynamic that Buffalo has lacked the last couple of years.
Per a league source, the #Bills have shown significant interest in #UConn WR Skyler Bell.

Bell finished 2025 with 101 receptions for 1,278 yds & 13 TDs.
The WR has good speed & can hurt teams in all three levels of the field. He’s projected to be a day-two pick.#BillsMafia… pic.twitter.com/04MvDhgjQg
Bills showing interest in UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell
Coming off a breakout year with the Huskies, Bell is projected to be a third round pick and was compared to Michael Gallup from NFL Draft Analyst, Lance Zierlien. Bell has ideal wide receiver size to where he can line up on the outside or even move inside in some packages as well.
With the Bills bringing in D.J. Moore, he takes care of the lack of a No. 1 target that Buffalo didn’t have since trading away Stefon Diggs. They have their slot receiver in Khalil Shakir, and Dalton Kincaid is a great safety valve for the short yardage situation. However, they still have to fill out the rest of the room.
Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer are coming off underwhelming 2025 seasons for various reasons, and the overall depth is not solid. Adding someone like Bell would not only give the Bills quality depth, but Bell could become a starter from Day 1 if he performs well early on in the summer.
