When it became official that the Buffalo Bills would host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football, it was the perfect start for not just the Bills, but the Sunday Night Football schedule, too. You will have a rematch from last yearβs playoffs that featured two quarterbacks who went head-to-head in the MVP race (that Allen rightfully won).
The Bills sent the Ravens home early, winning 27-25 and it put Josh Allen 2-0 against Lamar Jackson in the playoffs. Unfortunately, that was the last great game by the Bills that season as we all know what happened the following week.
On the morning of Sunday, September 7th, Bills Mafia will be waking up with excitement for the season to kickoff against a tough Ravens team. However, fans wonβt be the only ones excited to get the season underway.
Dion Dawkins shows excitement to face Ravens in Week 1 on SNF
After the schedule dropped, Billsβ Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins went to X to post his thoughts on the home opener for the Bills, and letβs just say that he is beyond excited to take on Baltimore at the start of the season.
Yeah, the fan-favorite is not afraid of seeing Baltimore in Week 1. The Bills and Ravens have a lot of history between each other in the era of Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. While Jackson and the Ravens tend to get the best of the Bills in the regular season, it is Allen and the Bills that get the last laugh in the playoffs. Buffalo has beaten the Ravens 17-3 and 27-25 in two playoff matchups with these two quarterbacks.
Itβs going to be a fun home opener for the Bills and this season is going to be an exciting one, yet filled with lots of emotions as this will mark the final season in the current stadium before going across the street to the new stadium that is being built.
September canβt come soon enough. Bills Mafia, enjoy the summer because once September comes, itβs go time.
