Even though the major wave of free agency and the NFL Draft are behind us, there are still plenty of available players on the free agent market that are looking for a team to play with in 2026. During the first wave, we saw a bunch of signings right away across the league, just not from the Buffalo Bills.

They waited a bit before they made some free agency moves like bringing in Dee Alford, Bradley Chubb, and Geno Stone. Prior to free agency, they traded for wide receiver D.J. Moore and got a contract extension done with Connor McGovern. They have also brought in players like Trent Sherfield and Lloyd Cushenberry, as well as brought back Damar Hamlin.

When it came to the NFL Draft, they turned seven picks into ten selections after multiple trades, addressing a lot of positions of need. One of their selections was UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell in the 4th round that has Bills fans very much excited about what he can bring to this offense.

With the additions of Moore and Bell, Buffalo’s wide receiver room should produce much more than what they have the last two years. However, it doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t add another playmaker for Josh Allen, and Jordan Dajani from CBS Sports has listed the Bills as a potential landing spot for five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins.

DeAndre Hopkins would be low-risk/high-reward addition for Bills

Hopkins was recently asked which quarterback he would like to play with that he hasn’t yet, and he almost immediately said Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. Don't get me wrong, Burrow is a phenomenal quarterback, but Josh Allen is someone that all receivers should want to play no matter what stage they are at in their career.

"If not Burrow, how about Josh Allen? Just this offseason, Hopkins told Kay Adams he and Allen could "do some damage." The Buffalo Bills have made it clear they are Super Bowl or bust with the surprising firing of coach Sean McDermott. There's pressure on Brandon Beane and Joe Brady to win now, and the Bills didn't exactly revamp Allen's weaponry this offseason apart from the DJ Moore acquisition." said Dajani.

If Hopkins were to join the Bills, he would give them an immediate fantastic veteran presence who has playoff and Super Bowl experience. He wouldn’t need to be the No. 1 option, and not even the No. 2 either. In addition, adding Hopkins could be very beneficial for Keon Coleman who is in a bit of a make or break year for the Bills.

Even through the changes that the Bills made this offseason, they are still a championship contender and Hopkins is still looking for his first Super Bowl ring of his career. Why not try to get it in Buffalo? It’s worth a shot.
