After months of ongoing drama and speculation of what quarterback Aaron Rodgers would do after being released by the New York Jets, we can officially say that Rodgers will be taking the field in 2025. According to Tom Pelissero, Rodgers has informed the Pittsburgh Steelers that he will fly to Pittsburgh and sign before next week’s minicamp.

This move was expected for a long time and Rodgers waited until the very last minute to make it official. However, Rodgers will be playing in the black and gold for 2025. And with that, the Bills will officially face off against Rodgers for a third consecutive season.

The former Packers and Jets quarterback heads to the AFC North after spending just the last two seasons in New York, but only playing in one full season due to a torn achilles injury in 2023. While he had his bad moments last season, Rodgers did finish the final stretch of the season on a pretty good note. However, it wasn’t enough for the Jets’ new regime to keep him around.

Bills set to see Aaron Rodgers in Week 13 at Pittsburgh

When Rodgers was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets in 2023, it started a lot of chatter about how the Jets could be elevated to the next level (assuming that Rodgers could get back to his MVP form). However, it was nothing more than a huge mess and the Jets are now back to starting from the ground up.

The Bills are set to travel to Pittsburgh in Week 13 and assuming that Rodgers can stay healthy and not get benched, Buffalo will go up against him and it should be no tall task for them. Even though Rodgers can still make impressive throws, the Bills defense made life difficult for him when he was on the field.

This move should not scare Bills fans at all. Even though the Steelers have one of best defensive units in the league, their offense is a different story for the worst. I will say though, Rodgers will have some time to work with his new teammates well in advance before they take on the Bills, so maybe this matchup will be closer than we think.
