Bills' OC replacement for Joe Brady for 2026 season is clear as day

If Joe Brady gets a head coaching job after 2025, the Bills don't have to look far for his replacement.

When the Buffalo Bills bumped up Joe Brady to the offensive coordinator position in the middle of the 2023 season, they struck gold. The offense became more exciting and less predictable like it was with Ken Dorsey calling the plays. Last season, Brady implemented an “everybody eats” offense and it was one of the top units in the league.

After taking some head coach interviews and getting serious consideration from the New Orleans Saints, Brady withdrew from the process and is back in Buffalo for atleast one more season. The continuity is there and the duo of Brady and Josh Allen is looking to make another run at the Super Bowl.

If Brady can have the same type of success in 2025 with the Bills, there’s no way that he doesn’t get some offers to become a head coach for next season. If that does happen, the Bills will have had two offensive coordinators gain head coaching positions while they figure out who will be calling the plays on offense.

If Joe Brady leaves Buffalo after 2025, his replacement is quite obvious

One former Bills player, who is now a coach with the Denver Broncos, is making some great noise to get a promotion for next season. Former NFL quarterback Davis Webb, who spent some time with the Bills back in the early part of Josh Allen’s career, is the current pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Denver Broncos.

In the Broncos’ Week 2 preseason win against the Arizona Cardinals, quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger both shined in the 27-7 win. Stidham passed for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Ehlinger passed for 162 yards.

Webb deserves a ton of credit for those performances and NFL Insider James Palmer gave high praise to Webb. Specifically, Palmer said Davis "could be a head coach sooner than later." Head coach Sean Payton also gave high praise to Webb, who called the plays for the Broncos on Saturday.

The next step for Webb should be becoming an offensive coordinator and if he can get the chance to work with Josh Allen, he should take it without hesitation. Allen has helped Brian Daboll become a head coach, and now he is making Brady a potential top head coach candidate going into 2026.

There is some familiarity as Webb knows the Bills and has been on the same team as Allen before. If Webb can once again do big things for the Broncos and make Bo Nix look just as impressive as he was last season, he could be a top coordinator candidate. Should the Bills lose Brady after this season, hiring Webb would be a perfect fit for them.
