It’s a new era for the Buffalo Bills heading into the 2026 season. Joe Brady is the new head coach and he has a new coaching staff with him. The defense will look a lot more different under Jim Leonhard than it did with Sean McDermott. However, even though there are some notable changes that the Bills made this season, there is also a great amount of continuity.
The biggest roster move that the Bills made was acquiring DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears, giving Josh Allen a new No. 1 receiver, which is something that he hasn’t had the last two seasons. Moore’s production in Chicago has dropped the last two years, but with the added playmakers on offense, there’s only so much that Moore could have done.
Now he joins an offense where he is the clear-cut No. 1 receiver, and with Buffalo already having a great rushing attack with James Cook, Moore is entering a great situation. Not to mention, he worked with Joe Brady in Carolina when Brady was the offensive coordinator there from 2020-2021.
Bills' new trio already recognized as one of league's best heading into 2026
Jared Dubin from CBS Sports ranked each team’s “triplet” that includes their QB, RB, and top pass catcher and to some surprise, the Bills (Allen, Cook, and Moore) find themselves ranked at No. 7 overall.
"The Bills are our first team, where every vote they received was in the top 10. Interestingly, they actually dropped a spot on the list despite Cook delivering the best year of his career and the team adding Moore to Allen's receiver corps." said Dubin.
"I'd think, but it's notable that Allen is coming off his fewest passing touchdowns since 2019 and had another double-digit interception season after cutting his total to just six the year before. He was still remarkable as a runner, obviously, but that very slight regression from the 2024 MVP might also be playing a role in this ranking." Dubin added.
The only team that was ranked higher than the Bills that is very questionable is the Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes, Kenneth Walker, Rashee Rice). I would make the argument that this Chiefs’ trio is Top 15, but barely Top 10 if at all.
Josh Allen and James Cook are already one of the best QB/RB duos in the league. Now with the addition of Moore, who has reached 1,000+ receiving yards in 4 out of 8 seasons, Buffalo’s offense is set to take off more than they already have this decade.
Seeing this ranking should give fans hope about what is to come from the offense, especially since Joe Brady will still be calling the plays. Training camp will be the first step to seeing what this duo will do, which is coming up here shortly this month.
