About six years ago, the Buffalo Bills swung a major trade for Stefon Diggs. Diggs was previously on the Minnesota Vikings and was surely a massive help in Josh Allen's development. Largely due to some poor drafting, the Bills are in a spot where the front office might be forced to swing a similar trade.

That comes with good and bad, but at the end of the day, the Bills have to improve the weaponry at wide receiver around Josh Allen. Sure, Allen isn't without blame, but the Bills cannot field the same receiver room they had in the playoffs.

And in this 2026 NFL mock draft, Buffalo gets that major trade done.

Buffalo Bills swing major trade for George Pickens in updated NFL Mock Draft

26. Vega Ioane, OG, Penn State

Guard David Edwards and center Connor McGovern are both slated to be free agents in 2026. With both likely set to command hefty deals, addressing the interior of the offensive line is a wise idea, especially if Vega Ioane is there for the taking at pick 26. Ioane, in my eyes, is one of the few 'can't miss' prospects in the NFL Draft this year.

He's a well-rounded, tough-as-nails guard who is going to make any offensive line better. Ioane plays with a nasty edge and carries his 6-foot-4, 323-pound frame well. Ioane is a Day 1 starter for Buffalo.

Bills trade pick 60 to Dallas Cowboys for WR George Pickens

With there being a possibility that a second-round pick gets the deal done, Buffalo does make it happen here, trading pick 60 to the Dallas Cowboys for Pickens. What Pickens would bring to the table is precisely what Buffalo has been missing - a legitimate no. 1 target who can not only separate downfield at an elite level, but Pickens' short-area quickness would be valuable in Joe Brady's offense.

Buffalo would then have to extend Pickens, but most importantly, they get him in the building.

91. Domonique Orange, DT, Iowa State

Along the defensive line, Buffalo could have a plethora of players to replace when free agency rolls around. Domonique Orange is a nose tackle prospect with insanely long arms who also excels against the run. Buffalo's run defense was a bit of a liability, and with the defensive line potentially getting gutted in free agency, not only would Orange fit with fewer free agents, but his ability against the run makes him an ideal fit for this defense.

126. Tacario Davis, CB, Washington

Keeping with the defensive additions, Tacario Davis is a schematically versatile defensive back from Washington. His length and ball skills could make him a starter in the secondary, but there is a bit of 'boom or bust' with him as a coverage player. Buffalo isn't necessarily going to find a future All-Pro at pick 126, but Davis has the traits to develop into a starter.

166. Matt Gulbin, OC, Michigan State

The same goes for Matt Gulbin, a center prospect from Michigan State. The traits are there for future starting consideration. If Buffalo does lose McGovern in free agency, opting to sign a lower-cost center and hedging that signing in the NFL Draft would be a wise idea for the present and long-term.

221. Caden Curry, EDGE, Ohio State

What sticks out the most with Caden Curry is his off-the-charts production in 2025 with Ohio State. Curry notched 16.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. That kind of production against high-end collegiate competition could translate into the NFL and help him thrive as a pass-rush specialist early in his career.

229. Eric Gentry, LB, USC

So, Eric Gentry is 6-6. He's a linebacker, though, but has produced in college. In his five years, Gentry racked up 271 total tackles, nine forced fumbles, and 13 passes defended. Sure, Gentry could end up being a fine linebacker despite the height, but this could be someone deployed in a number of roles on defense for the Bills.
