Bills may be gifted perfect pass rusher to add over Myles Garrett

This wouldn’t be a bad pivot for the Bills should Myles Garrett not come to Buffalo.

The biggest story of this upcoming offseason will revolve around Cleveland Browns’ future Hall of Fame pass-rusher, Myles Garrett. The former number-one overall pick has requested to be traded out of Cleveland after many years of disappointing seasons and now they are heading closer into a rebuild rather than as a championship contender.

Right in the middle of his prime, if the Browns do indeed move on, they are going to want a haul, rightfully so. The Buffalo Bills better be one of the teams that makes a pitch to bring Garrett to Western New York. After a failed attempt at bringing in a lethal pass rush in Von Miller, Beane will need to go back to the board to see how he can bring a consistent edge rush that Buffalo has been lacking for quite sometime.

At the same time, will Beane want to give up multiple draft picks to bring Garrett to Buffalo? Not to mention, he will be needing a new contract as well. The Bills are in a bit of a tough spot financially, but anything is possible. However, the Bills need to have the mindset that Garrett isn’t coming. That’s where Beane has to be scouting the market to see who else is out there.

Bills may have perfect player to sign if Myles Garrett doesn’t end up in Buffalo

Whether it’s before or after breaking news comes out about Garrett, there is one potential pass rusher who could be hitting the open market for the first time in his career that the Bills need to have a discussion about. Los Angeles Chargers’ ferocious pass-rusher Joey Bosa has been one of the league’s best edge rushers since being drafted in 2016.

With his ability to do a simple bullrush or utilize his footwork to create pressure, Bosa has been amazing when he is on the field. According to overthecap.com, the Chargers can save over $25 million in cap space by releasing the veteran.

Even though it’s not official that the Chargers will release Bosa, it would be surprising to see LA keep him on the roster. If he indeed does hit the free agent market, Brandon Beane needs to work his free agency magic and see if he can land Bosa in Buffalo.

The former Defensive Rookie of the Year award winner has struggled to stay healthy the last three seasons. He is only averaging nine games played in the last three years, yet his impact is heavily missed when he is not on the field. While his production has decreased, he still finds ways to create pressure and win one-on-one matchups against tackles. Not to mention, he is very familiar with facing Patrick Mahomes twice a year.

Bosa would be able to mentor Greg Rousseau and the other pass rushers to help with their intensity on the field. Throughout his career, Bosa has shown to be one of those players that is always hitting someone every play and can get to the quarterback fast, whether he knows it or not.

If the Bills were to land Bosa in free agency, it would definitely upgrade their pass rush and it wouldn't cost them draft picks to acquire him.
