The 2026 season will start for the Buffalo Bills this Sunday when they take the field against the Houston Texans down in Texas. The Bills added a bunch of new coaches and players, creating curiosity for Bills Mafia going into this season.
One of their biggest acquisitions in the offseason was trading for wide receiver DJ Moore to upgrade the offense. The Bills have not had a true receiving threat since Stefon Diggs, so Moore's presence should bring a new spark to the passing game.
In addition, the Bills also drafted rookie Skyler Bell who could be a late-season rising player if he gets his opportunity on the field. However, even though the Bills made these additions, they still have questions with the rest of the group. Khalil Shakir is a solid slot receiver, but players like Joshua Palmer and Keon Coleman have a lot to prove this season for various reasons.
Bills could very well make another WR move during 2026 season
If the Bills still have some major wide receiver issues this season, it would not be surprising to see them make another move for a receiver at some point before the trade deadline. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently listed Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy as a player who could be on the trade board this season, and Knox has the Bills a potential suitor for Jeudy.
"The Cleveland Browns made one for-the-future move when they dealt Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. They could make another—albeit with a much smaller return—by trading away wide receiver Jerry Jeudy." said Knox.
"Jeudy had a down year in 2025, along with the rest of the Browns' offense. However, he was a Pro Bowler in 2024 and is still only 27 years old. He should interest receiver-needy teams, and his $1.5 million base salary for 2026 is extremely team-friendly." Knox added.
Potential addition of Jerry Jeudy would be low-risk/high-reward for Bills
This wouldn't be the first time the Bills and Browns struck a deal for a wide receiver. Early in the 2024 season, the Bills landed Amari Cooper, so there is familiarity between the two front offices.
Jeudy has been with the Browns since 2024 and he had a great first season with them with 1,229 yards and 4 touchdowns with one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL. Last season was a rough one for Jeudy not just because of his quarterback situation, but because of his inconsistency.
Even though Jeudy had over 100 targets, he only managed to reel in 50 catches for 602 yards and 2 touchdowns. With the Browns drafting KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the NFL Draft, Jeudy might be on his way out sooner than later (especially if the rookie impress early on in the season).
Buffalo would have the chance to add a receiver who is right in the middle of his prime and has never had the best quarterback situation when he was with Denver and now with Cleveland.
The Bills would get wide receiver help and it wouldn't cost them a whole lot, and Jeudy would join an immediate contender with Josh Allen throwing him the ball. It would be a great setup for both sides.
