Bills listed as prime landing spot for Super Bowl WR (and it makes sense)

The Buffalo Bills are going to be entering a new era at head coach after they made the move to fire Sean McDermott last Monday. Buffalo has interviewed candidates and they are still interviewing. They need to act quicker than you think because the last thing they need is not getting their best candidate available.

One topic that came up in their press conference on Wednesday was about WR Keon Coleman, which caused so much confusion and anger about how things were handled at that time. However, there is no denying that the Bills need to improve the wide receiver room whether it’s through free agency, the draft, or via trade.

The Bills have a tricky cap situation and don’t have the best draft picks to select one of the top receivers in the draft. At the same time, moves can be made to make things more possible.

Over the last couple of offseasons, the Bills have brought in veteran wide outs, but none that have had serious success in the NFL. Could that change this offseason? Fans are sure hoping so, and maybe that successful veteran wide receiver is someone that no one is talking about.

Bills listed as ideal landing spot for WR Mike Evans

Mason Cameron from Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently listed Buffalo as the best landing spot for Mike Evan (subscription may be required). Here's a bit on what Cameron said about Evans being a fit for the Bills:

"The Bills' lack of quality depth at outside receiver limited their offensive output, particularly when injuries mounted late in the year. Add in their limited capability to stretch the field vertically – recording the sixth fewest receptions on throws of 20 or more yards – and Evans profiles as a strong upgrade to Josh Allen’s core of weapons. "
Mason Cameron, PFF

For the first time in his career, Evans did not reach 1,000 receiving yards and it was due to an injury. However, let’s not forget that in addition to his 11-season streak of 1,000+ yard seasons, Evans has recorded 10+ touchdowns in six of those seasons which includes from 2023-2024.

At this point, Buffalo could use any kind of valuable wide receiver help and Evans would be the perfect veteran who has had true success in this league. With Buffalo going in a different direction at head coach, everything is up in the air on how this roster could look for the start of 2026.

If Evans does not sign an extension with Tampa and is still looking to place, he and Buffalo might be a perfect match based on the current situation that the Bills have. Not to mention, Evans would be getting Josh Allen who is in the middle of his prime and needs a go-to wideout on the outside.
