Fans are getting excited for the NFL Draft to start later on tonight and no one can blame them. After months of going through changes with the firing of Sean McDermott, the Buffalo Bills will now turn their attention to the draft where they are set to pick at No. 26 in the first round. There have been countless mock drafts and speculation on what Buffalo could do to start their draft.

One direction that Buffalo could go is bringing in an edge rusher who can take on the edge with hand in the dirt. With the Bills moving Greg Rousseau to outside linebacker, they now have a hole to fill.

The Bills have tried to gain an edge rusher who can bring a true pass rush to collapse the pocket, but they have had inconsistency and had to deal with injuries as well. They signed Bradley Chubb to a three year deal where he can provide that pass rush, but they need more.

The one thing Buffalo can’t do in the first round is draft an edge rusher that isn’t a true pass rusher. One prospect that comes to mind that would not be a good fit for Buffalo is Keldric Faulk out of Auburn, but Ian Harper from NFL Mocks has listed Faulk as a fit for the Bills.

"The Bills filled a need with Bradley Chubb as their big free agency splash, but adding another EDGE could fully turn the position into a top unit. Faulk would be able to display his elite run-stopping skills while working on his pass-rush game in a rotational capacity, playing to both his and Buffalo's strengths." said Harper.

Keldric Faulk is not a good fit for the Bills

Faulk is a solid prospect and he should be a good player in the NFL. However, he has not shown a consistent pass rush that Buffalo desperately needs. He is a run-stopper, which is something that he is elite at. The Bills already have that run-stopping EDGE/OLG in Greg Rousseau, so there is no need to draft a second-like player.

Buffalo is better off getting someone like Cashius Howell out of Texas A&M who is a pure pass rusher. Or if they wanted to stick with the defensive line overall, going with defensive tackle Kayden McDonald out of Ohio State would be a better fit.

Overall, the Bills have to get their first round pick right if they choose to stay put. Drafting Faulk would be a mistake simply because of the lack of being a true pass rusher.
