Bills linked to Cooper Kupp to help Josh Allen finally reach the Super Bowl

This would be all right!

The Buffalo Bills proved that they don't need to add top-tier wide receivers for Josh Allen to be dominant. Allen won his first MVP award in 2024 and that was without Stefon Diggs or a traditional top-tier target for him to throw to.

That being said, would Bills fans complain if the team were to bring in one of those guys (or someone who used to be one of those guys)? Not at all.

That's why Christian D'Andrea of For The Win's idea of Buffalo signing the recently-released Cooper Kupp piqued the interest of Bills fans everywhere.

"Buffalo already lost Mack Hollins to the Patriots. Amari Cooper remains unsigned. There's a need for a reliable, do-the-work veteran in the Bills' lineup — and an opportunity for Kupp to chase a ring while playing with one of the league's top quarterback," D'Andrea wrote. "There's a problem here; both Cooper and Hollins were downfield targets whose spacing helped Khalil Shakir thrive (7.9 yards after catch per reception). The Bills signed Joshua Palmer to fill that role, but more help is needed. Kupp may no longer have the long-range quickness to lift this offense. While his hands, blocking and leadership would be useful, his fit would likely require the Bills to make a further buy-in at wideout -- all with limited cap space to do so."

Bills fans would love to see Cooper Kupp prediction become a reality

As D'Andrea noted, the Bills lost Mack Hollins, who stayed in the AFC East but went to the rival Patriots. He also pointed out that Amari Cooper, who the Bills traded for during the 2024 season, has yet to sign anywhere. The Bills need to find a receiver for Allen and it's hard to argue that Kupp wouldn't be a swing for the fences kind of signing.

Kupp isn't the same guy he was at his prime but he's still good for at least 700 yards and five or six touchdowns, even with the injuries he's suffered in recent years. That's about what the Rams got from Kupp in 12 games a season ago and the Bills would gladly take that kind of production from Kupp if they were able to get this deal done.

Kupp will be entering his age 32 season in 2025 and hasn't started a full regular season since 2021 but he's absolutely worth the risk for a team like the Bills. Adding a receiver like Kupp to Allen's arsenal might be what helps them finally get over the hump and reach a Super Bowl. They have to go for it.
