While the Buffalo Bills still have one more regular season game left, fans will be paying more attention to the playoffs since Buffalo is a guaranteed wild card team. If Buffalo loses, they will be the automatic 7-seed. However, that could change if they win and other teams like the Chargers and Texans lose.

Either way, the Bills have to focus on the New York Jets and get ready for the playoffs. For the first time since the 2019 season, the Bills will be playing on the road in the wild card round. No matter who they play, they are going to need their absolute best if they want a true playoff run.

Earlier this month, the Bills made a key practice squad signing with edge rusher Matthew Judon, who started out the season with the Miami Dolphins but was then released. Buffalo brought him in for a visit and had officially signed him to the practice squad.

Signing Judon was a very smart move not just because of veteran depth, but also playoff experience. While he is past his prime, he still has the ability to create plays in crucial moments.

Bills must find a way to get Matthew Judon on roster for playoffs

While Judon didn’t have a ton of success in Miami, he did have 5.5 sacks with the Atlanta Falcons last season. When Judon was in New England from 2021-2023, he was a game-wrecker against New England. Even though the Bills have pass rushers in Joey Bosa, Greg Rousseau, and A.J. Epenesa, the Bills need Judon’s experience once the playoffs start.

Sean McDermott spoke with the media about Judon on Wednesday, complimenting him about the impact he has been having in the building so far, per Sal Capaccio. However, the Bills would be wise to find a roster spot for him once the playoffs start. Not only would he be quality depth, he has experience in high pressure moments.

With the challenges that are ahead for the Bills once the postseason starts, putting Judon on the roster on gamedays would be an extremely smart move.
