It only took until the 4th round, but the Buffalo Bills have finally landed a wide receiver in Skyler Bell out of UConn. The Bills selected him with the 125th pick and they gave Josh Allen another weapon to add to the offense.

Prior to the draft, it was reported that the Bills had interest in Bell and now he is coming to catch passes from Josh Allen in Orchard Park. Bell is coming off a breakout season with the Huskies where he had 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns with over 100 catches. He should add a new dynamic to the offense as he can line up both inside and outside.

Bills finally give Josh Allen new wide receiver in Skyler Bell

Since the Bills traded away Stefon Diggs and let Gabe Davis walk in free agency in 2024, they have struggled to get consistent production out of their wide receiver room. They have gone through many veterans in that timespan and Keon Coleman hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations that Buffalo had of him coming out of college in 2024.

They traded for D.J. Moore this offseason to give Allen his true No. 1 receiver but they needed to add more to the room. The addition of Bell gives Buffalo more options. Bell will now be in a room with Moore, Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Joshua Palmer. Those are your top five as of right now.

Having the production he did at UConn last season should have Bills fans excited about what he can do with Allen throwing him the ball. Joe Brady will get the chance to use Bell in many different sets that will give the offense a lot of versatility. If they need him to take the short routes, he can. If they need him to stretch the field, no problem.

Coming into this draft, he was one of the more underrated receivers that would make a great addition to a team that has a solid quarterback. Well, it doesn’t get much better than having Josh Allen as your quarterback.

Fans should be extremely pleased with this pick. It takes care of a need and it gives Allen more help on the outside. The last solid receiver that the Bills took in the 4th round was Gabe Davis back in 2020. There is a chance that Bell could do more for the offense than what Davis did.
