It has been a wild start to the offseason for a few teams, and the Buffalo Bills are included in that chaotic mix. Of course, just after suffering another early playoff exit, the Bills decided to fire head coach Sean McDermott.

All opinions aside, the Bills now have a massive job to do. They have to figure out who will be able to come in and pick up the pieces left by McDermott, who was beloved in this locker room. Not only that, but they need someone who can come in and truly elevate those around quarterback Josh Allen and get this team over the hump.

There are still some intriguing candidates out there, but with names like John Harbaugh, Kevin Stefanski, Robert Saleh and Mike McDaniel securing jobs, who do the Bills turn to?

In the latest bit of news, the Bills are indeed set to interview a familiar face: former Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

Fate could be bringing Brian Daboll and Josh Allen back to where their NFL success all began

After a subpar rookie year, Allen was given the chance to play beneath Daboll's tutelage in 2018. From 2018 to 2021, the Bills' offense took a drastic step forward.

From being the 30th-ranked offense in the league in 2017, the Bills climbed all the way up to being 3rd in points and 5th in total yards by 2021. Daboll had unlocked Allen in a way no one saw coming, and from there, the Bills were officially back.

If Daboll were to return, that might mean current offensive coordinator Joe Brady is on his way out in one form or another. Daboll would be the play caller, which would leave Brady desiring more in a gig elsewhere. And, he might get it, regardless of whether or not Daboll is back in Buffalo.

The key, here, is that Daboll would be able to finish what he started. If Daboll is hired, the next steps are painfully obvious.

People have quite the load of opinions about Brandon Beane and his recent promotion, but Beane is going to be the center of attention until he isn't. He's done very little by way of adding talent around Josh Allen in the draft and free agency, and that goes for the defensive side of the ball too.

Beane will have all the pressure in the world on him. He'll have the perfect reunion between Allen and Daboll, but it'll be fully on his shoulders to finally figure out how to build this roster up the way a true contender should be.
