The NFL Draft is just over a month away and the Buffalo Bills currently have seven draft picks to use. They have extra picks on Day 3, but they sent their second rounder to the Chicago Bears to acquire D.J. Moore. A lot of fans thought that it was expensive to send that pick to the Bears, but it is a way better deal than what the Broncos sent to the Dolphins to acquire Jaylen Waddle which included their first round pick.

While Moore was a solid acquisition for the Bills, there is still plenty of room to grow at that position. The last time that the Bills didn’t draft a wide receiver was in 2019. Since then, they have drafted atleast one every year. However, the only receivers that have made some kind of impact have been Gabe Davis and Khalil Shakir,

Up to this point, Keon Coleman has been a bust. Who knows though, maybe having Joe Brady as his head coach will help him.

Either way, fans should be hoping that the Bills draft a receiver early on rather than the 6th or 7th round. In a recent mock draft by Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone, the Bills get a steal of a draft pick in the third round (No. 91) with a receiver out of UConn in Skyler Bell.

"Skyler Bell from UConn has some nice production in college and is really able to be a threat all over the field and formation. You could look at Bell as being a rather well-rounded, complete wide receiver. After trading for DJ Moore earlier in the offseason, Buffalo doubles-down in this mock draft and takes Bell." said Scataglia.

Skyler Bell would be huge Day 2 steal for Bills in NFL Draft

Bell started his college career at the University of Wisconsin, but was not productive much. He had no more than 444 yards and 5 touchdowns in a season. Then in the last two seasons with the Huskies at UConn, he drastically took a step forward.

In 2024, Bell had 860 yards and 4 touchdowns off of 50 catches. Then last season, Bell had his best season by far with 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. The last two seasons at UConn really helped Bell stand out as a potential Day 2 draft pick and quite frankly, he would be a huge steal for the Bills late in the third round.

Gaining Bell for this receiver room would give the Bills a high ceiling for the future and he would also serve as immediate competition for Keon Coleman, who enters a crucial year while on his rookie contract.
