Week 7 of the NFL season finishes up tonight between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, but it was a great week for the Buffalo Bills despite them being on their bye week. The Bills entered their bye week at 5-1 after back-to-back close wins against the LA Rams and Las Vegas Raiders and remained in first place in the AFC East.

Overall, the Bills have a lot of good things happening for them within their roster. They also have a lot to clean up especially on the defense.

While the Bills got the chance to rest and relax this week, they were also given multiple gifts in Week 7 within their own division. The standings didn't change this week, but the Bills were given some great comfort room.

Updated AFC East standings after Week 7

1.) Buffalo Bills (5-1)
Bye Week

The Bills got the chance to rest this week, as well as even enjoy a Patriots loss to the Bears on Thursday night, which gives them more comfort room in the AFC East. They are the biggest winners in the division and they didn't even play a game.

2.) New England Patriots (4-3)
Loss to Bears, 30-24

The Patriots had the chance to close the gap even more on Buffalo for the top spot in the division, but the Bears came away with a 30-24 win to hold off New England. With the Patriots beating the Bills in Week 4, New England owns the tiebreaker and every win they get adds more pressure on Buffalo. Luckily, Caleb Williams threw a wrench into New England's momentum which was Buffalo's best-case scenario.

3.) New York Jets (2-5)
Loss to Dolphins, 28-25

Look at the Jets being the Jets once again. They hosted the Miami Dolphins up in New Jersey and they allowed the Dolphins to leave with their first win the Jeff Hafley era. Coming into this game, the Dolphins had never led in a game against an opponent this season. This time around, they never let the Jets take the lead at any point during the game which is just flat out embarrassing.

With the Dolphins winning this game, they knock the Jets down to 2-5 and further away from the Bills.

4.) Miami Dolphins (1-5)
Def. Jets, 28-25

With the way that the Dolphins were playing up until this week, you could have made the argument that they had a good chance at being the first 0-17 team in NFL history. However, they managed to pull off a tiny upset against the Jets and are in the win column for the first time.

Their defense under Jeff Hafley had been playing well, but their offense just simply doesn't have enough talent to carry them on a consistent basis. That was a different story this time around as they put up 28 points on a surprisingly good Jets defense. They were the only team in the AFC East to walk away with a win this week.
