When Bills fans look back on their 2025 season, it was months of thrillers and heartbreaks, with a couple of blowouts thrown in there. The Buffalo Bills were unsuccessful at winning their sixth consecutive AFC East title, and weren’t able to once again make the Super Bowl which ultimately was the final factor before the firing of Sean McDermott.

The Bills finished the regular season at 12-5, two games behind the New England Patriots, so they went into the playoffs as a wild card team. At the same time, they wouldn’t have to worry about running into Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson as all three of them were not in playoff contention.

Many people thought that despite the Bills being a wild card team, they would finally reach the Super Bowl and potentially bring home the Lombardi trophy for the first time in history. Clearly, that didn’t happen and now the Bills are heading in a new direction with Joe Brady as the head coach.

Even though this past season once again ended in extreme heartbreak, the Bills delivered some of the league’s best games this season, both that were in favor and not in favor of the Bills.

Bills make it onto exclusive 2025 NFL list (for both good and bad reasons)

NFL analysts from NFL.com put together a list of the Top 10 games from the 2025 season, and the Bills made three different appearances.

The first one at No. 10 was Buffalo’s wild card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Gennaro Filice. Going into this game, it was Buffalo’s No. 1 rushing attack facing Jacksonville's No. 1 run-defense.

While the Jaguars got the laugh against the run, they couldn’t figure out how to stop Josh Allen and the Bills defense managed to come up with a huge game-sealing interception that eliminated Jacksonville. This win ended up being Sean McDermott’s final win as the head coach of the Bills.

The second game listed at No. 5 was the one that ended the Bills’ season in Denver, where Buffalo suffered another heartbreaking overtime loss in the playoffs. Denver had taken control in the first half, but then it was a battle between Denver and Buffalo in the second half and in overtime.

Both Buffalo and Denver got away with bad and no-calls, but the Broncos came out on the lucky end in overtime to send the Bills packing. Bills fans definitely didn’t enjoy the ending, but it is still one of the best games this season from an NFL fan point of view.

The final Bills game that was listed on here is the one that started everything for the Bills this season. At No. 4, the Week 1 dynamite Bills vs. Ravens matchup was listed and this was a game where Buffalo got absolutely lucky in the 4th quarter when they overcame a 15-point deficit that ultimately ended in a walkoff field goal by Matt Prater.

The Bills ended up coming back from a 40-25 deficit with the offense clicking and the defense making the huge stops it did. It was a thriller for sure and it was a perfect way to kick off the season.
